Facebook is providing grants to support Facebook Groups to come together in Australia. Applicants from Eligible Facebook Groups are invited to apply for a grant, to support an Eligible Activity related to that Group.
Before submitting an application, please read the Facebook Australia Groups Fund Terms and Conditions and the Frequently Asked Questions below. This will assist you when deciding to apply and preparing your application.
The program will run during 2018, with applications opening on 12 September 2018 and close when Facebook has received 500 applications or at 11:59pm AEST on 1 October 2018, whichever is earlier.
An Eligible Facebook Group is one which is of good standing and engaged in activities and discussions that are anchored on positive impact, rather than demeaning other people, groups, or points of view. The Group must also comply with all applicable terms and policies governing the use of Facebook apps and services.
An Eligible Activity is one which is based in Australia that requires funding to support the purpose, facilitation and ongoing activities of the Group. For example, the Grant may be used to fund a variety of events, resources, tools and access that empower face-to-face or offline activities of the Group and their members. We will take a variety of matters into consideration, including whether the activity:
Grant applications must be submitted online through the online application form at www.fbgroupsfund.com.au. Applications by other means will not be accepted.
Applicants may receive acknowledgement of receipt of their submitted application by email.
Applicants can apply for a grant ranging from AU$500 to AU$5,000.
We ask that grants are expended on the eligible activity by 30 June 2019.
Grant applications will close when Facebook has received 500 applications or at 11:59pm AEST on 1 October 2018, whichever is earlier.
We will only consider one grant application per Facebook Group. Should multiple applications be received for a Group, only the first application will be assessed.
The application will ask for information like: your contact information, details of the Facebook Group and your involvement with the Group, how the Group makes a difference in the community, details of the specific activity, resources or tools you are seeking funding for and who the funding would benefit.
All application questions are required to be answered. No additional support information will be required or considered.
Successful applicants will be notified by email following the application review and assessment, and validation processes.
Facebook and/or its third-party service providers may request additional information from down-selected Applicants to satisfy any probity matters it considers relevant in relation to the Applicant, other co-Group Administrators, and the Group itself. Such information may include bank account information, a National Police check and a video / phone screen with Good2Give.
Good2Give will administer the distribution of Grants to successful applicants. Grants will be paid directly to the Applicant’s validated bank account.
Other than use the funds on the approved activity within the required timeframes, there is no formal reporting requirement, however the Group Administrators are encouraged to post about their activity in their own Facebook Group.
By accepting the program Terms and Conditions, Facebook may showcase the Group and its application for promotional and marketing purposes.
Groups where any Group Administrator or their immediate family are employees or contractors of Facebook, Good2Give (our service provider for this Grant program) or any of their subsidiaries or affiliated companies are ineligible to apply for a Grant.
